Go online and become familiar with a first-year study programme within an hour
Welcome to our Online Taster Courses! Do you want to help people for whom movement does not come naturally (anymore)? Are you curious about the human body and would you like to learn how to help people with different mobility problems? From an athlete with a knee injury to an office worker with back problems. From a toddler with developmental disabilities to a gentleman with Parkinson's disease. Do you want to get people moving healthily again? Then the International Physiotherapy Programme (IPP) might be right up your street.
During Online Taster Course you follow a part of a first-year study programme. It will give you an idea of what the programme is like. A module consists of three parts: a taster lecture, a bit of theory and a short exam. It is a good way for you to find out whether this study suits you, and your skills and qualities!
It is important that you watch this case study before you start the modules. In the video below, Kyra tells you what symptoms she is suffering from.
If all goes well, you have watched the case video in which Kyra talks about what complaints she has. To properly identify this as a physiotherapist, it is important to have knowledge of the anatomy of the knee. In this module, lecturer Jesús will teach you more about the bone structure in the knee.
To better understand how knee problems occur, it is important to understand some of the anatomy of the knee joint and how the parts of the knee work together to maintain normal function. Read more about in in the article.

These questions are not meant to let you experience what an actual exam of a study programme is like. You can take the exam to check whether you have understood steps 1 and 2 of the Taster Course correctly. You will get feedback on your answers so that you can see why your answers were correct or incorrect. You can also interact with your classmates to find out how they did.
Answer the questions
In steps 1 through 3, you have learnt more about the anatomy in Vivo. And now it's time to get started on your own! In this document, you can read the assignment to palpate some bone points on someone.
With Jesús (module 1), you gained anatomical knowledge. Only it is also important to know what functions bones en muscles have. In this module we will zoom in on that with lecturer Sander during the physical examination of patient Kyra!
If we aim towards a comprehensive understanding of human functioning and the development of comprehensive programmes to optimise functioning of individuals and populations, we need to develop suitable measures. Read more about the ICF-based classification and measurement of functioning in the document.

You have now been briefly introduced to knee anatomy and a movement research. Now it's time to actually get to work with patient Kyra. In this module, lecturer Chris will tell you all about how to create a treatment plan together (with Kyra).
Exercise therapy should take place under the guidance of a therapist and is always combined with education and lifestyle advice. Specific advice is given during the treatment period and upon its termination on ways to achieve and/or maintain an active lifestyle in the patient's daily life as described in the physical activity guideline of the Health Council. Read more about general aspects of exercise therapy and the FITT methode in the article.
