Short-term care and interprofessional cooperation among frail elderly people

Nursing home care is changing. In view of the expected increase in the number of frail elderly people and the pressure on the labour market, innovation is of great importance.

Proper care and treatment for the frail and elderly is what matters and is of vital importance. The focus should be on supporting the elderly in healthy ageing, being able to continue living at home longer/better and being less likely to need professional care and support. Expertise within nursing homes and/or short-term admissions where expertise regarding this group of frail elderly people is available, is necessary and will have to play a central role.
