The professorship Communication, Behaviour & Sustainable Society is part of Entrance - Centre of Expertise Energy of the Hanze. It contributes to the creation of a sustainable society through research.
How can communication and behavioural campaigns motivate people to jointly realise a sustainable society? The sustainable society can be defined as: ‘A society in which the needs of the present can be met without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.’ (after the Brundland Commission, 1987).
Students, teachers, researchers, government, citizen initiatives and businesses work together to shape the sustainable society. We do this, among other things, by making people think about their consumption and energy use and by helping them to make choices. Together with us, people can work on shaping the future.
