Embedded Programming
- Subject or theme
In this first year module you will learn to program using a microcontroller. A microcontroller is a kind of minicomputer. You can find this, for example, in smart electronics, such as a smartwatch, a home assistant, or smart TV.
Because this is the first time you are learning programming, we will start by teaching you how to approach programming in a structured way. Of course, you will also delve into the code and master the programming language C through practice. You also learn to check whether your code is correct and does what you want it to do.
Ultimately, Embedded Programming is all about what you can achieve with it. That is why you conclude this module with a self-devised project, containing a microcontroller, a number of sensors and actuators.
For example, students have created a system that automatically closes the curtains when it gets dark or a remote-controlled boat.
