Power Up Yourself
- Subject or theme
Everyone who chooses Electrical Engineering is unique. One is great at math and the other is very handy with his hands. Some people already program their own games at home and others enjoy all types of technology.
Because everyone has different prior knowledge, we have the ‘Power Up Yourself’ module in year 1. You will discuss with your mentor what you are already good at and what you may need or want to learn more about.
To supplement your prior knowledge, we offer lessons and workshops on all kinds of different things. For example, you can work on all kinds of practical skills, such as programming, 3D drawing or learning to make electrical drawings and diagrams.
You can also work on more theoretical topics in areas where you are not very strong. We offer lessons to get your mathematics up to sufficient level, but also lessons about technical writing in English, or a course in the Dutch language.
If you think, “I can already do all these things”, you can also agree on a different contents for your ‘Power Up Yourself’ in consultation with your mentor. For example, students have sometimes helped out with our student racing team HARD or created an app with which they could turn the lights in their room on and off.
