You can spend half a year of your programme on whatever subject you want to study. You have complete freedom of choice! You can choose to delve deeper into electrical engineering, or broaden your education with another subject of your interest. You can follow a six-month programme (called a minor) in electrical engineering, or another programme such as mechanical engineering. You could also follow a minor at another department of the Hanze, or even at another university of applied science in the Netherlands or abroad! In short; enough choice! No idea yet what you want? No problem! During your programme you’ll find out quickly enough what interests you and you’ll have plenty of time to choose.

Free Elective Space at the Institute of Engineering

At the Institute of Engineering, we offer a number of different in-depth elective minors that relate to a subject in the Engineering field. For example, you can choose one of these minors:

Free Elective Space abroad

Would you like to go abroad during your free elective space? At one of our partner universities, you will have the opportunity to take new courses on the topics of your choice. For example, you can improve your proficiency in a language (or learn a new language), or get to know electrical engineering in another country. In any case, you will meet a lot of new people from different countries. You can choose from a large number of universities in various countries and cities.
