Professorship Rehabilitation
The Professorship Rehabilitation focuses on the social functioning of people with participation problems due to psychological, addiction, somatic problems, acquired brain injury, an intellectual disability or homelessness. Prior to the inauguration, an interactive session will take place from 14:00 (coffee reception), led by Maarten Koekkoek, senior lecturer in Applied Psychology, in which we will explore the themes of the Rehabilitation Professorship. We will explore questions such as:
- How does society view people who struggle to participate?
- What does it mean for a young person to study with mental health problems? What hinders and what helps?
- As a social worker, what is it like to become a client with addiction problems yourself and then work as an expert by experience? About distance, closeness and self-disclosure.
We will discuss these questions interactively, with personal stories from a student and an expert by experience. When you register, you can indicate whether you will also attend this pre-programme.
