Hanze Penning (Hanze Medal)

Employees with special merit can be awarded the Hanze Medal. By means of the Hanze Medal, Hanze University of Applied Sciences expresses its appreciation for an employee who has made an important contribution to the Hanze, the region and society at large with their commitment, network, activities or achievements. A contribution that goes beyond the normal performance of their duties.

  • 2006 Willem Goedhart - director of the Municipal Conservatoire (now the Prince Claus Conservatoire)

  • 2008 Tonnie Plas - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen

  • 2009 Jacques Wallage - Mayor of the municipality of Groningen from 1998 until 2009

  • 2011 Chris Fictoor - Dean van de School of Performing Arts

  • 2013 Herman LabbertĂ© en Cora LabbertĂ©-Hoedemaker - Mr and Mrs LabbertĂ© have meant a great deal to students of the Prince Claus Conservatoire for many years

  • 2016 Gertjan Lankhorst - As Chairman of the Supervisory Board, a driving force behind the establishment of the Energy Academy Europe

  • 2018 Wim van Gemert - leading professor Energy Transition

  • 2019 Trijnie Faber-Remmelts - for her contribution to the quality of education and research at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen and to the development of the Hanze in many areas
